In memory of

Kostas Scountrianos

May 10, 1973 -  April 27, 2021

On Tuesday April 27th, we lost a beautiful young soul to the Heavens. Kostas “Gus” Scountrianos, left this world peacefully at Credit Valley Hospital succumbing to his battle with cancer and then COVID, with his soul soaring into the next world at 47 years of age. We find comfort that Gus is no longer suffering but rather free from the pain of this world. As he watches over his beloved family, he leaves behind his wife Anna Maria, his daughters, Athanasia, Giovanna and Georgina, his parents Athanasia & George Scountrianos, his brother Nick and sister-in-law Nancy Scountrianos, niece Alexandra and nephew George, and his in-laws Bartolo & Giovanna Basile, and brother in-law Francesco & his wife Rosemary Basile and their children Sofia and Ella, only until they meet again. In the true spirit of Gus’s tenacity, he fought and persisted for his family as long as his physical body would allow. As a testament to his kindness and love, Gus also leaves behind many friends and extended family.
Gus was a great husband and partner to Anna Maria. Together they worked as a team to raise their 3 daughters and battle cancer together. As a father to 3 girls, he was no stranger to the ups and downs of raising children. He was a soccer coach, supported the girls through hockey, and was always putting aside time for his family, all the while running a successful business. His voice was often heard in family gatherings, laughing, smiling, and making jokes; debating with the boys about football, soccer and hockey teams.
God did not promise days without pain, laughter without sorrow, nor sun without rain, but He did promise strength for the day, comfort for the tears, and light for the way. We will all miss you, Gus. We pray for your soul in Heaven and find comfort knowing that you are watching over us in peace and serenity.
The Funeral will be held At Pine Hills Cemetery & Funeral Centre in Scarborough on May 6th,, 2021 at 10:00am. Given, the COVID restrictions, there will be a link to the virtual ceremony listed on the date of the funeral at 9:45am. https://mountpleasantgroup.permavita.com/site/KostasScountrianos.html

To the family: I am deeply saddened by the loss that you and your family have encountered. May care and love of those around you provide comfort and peace to get you through the days ahead.
I hope that our Lord brings you and your family the much-needed peace during this sad time. I can’t imagine what you must be feeling right now, but I want you to know that we are just a phone call away. Our heartfelt condolences to you and your family.
In memory of Kostas: The day you left us, our hearts went black and our eyes wept, for you left us too soon. God wanted you near him and it is hard to say goodbye but you are in a better place with no more pain to endure. You will be missed and remembered always. Rest In Peace my dear cousin, my dear God Brother, my dear friend. Until we meet again in heaven, may God rest your soul and may the angels look after you and the clouds wrap you like a warm blanket and keep you safe. Sleep now dear Kosta and feel pain no more. Love you always and forever dear cuz!

We will truly miss you Gus. You have always treated us like family. Welcoming others and making them feel cared for was one of the many gifts you had. You have taught our daughter for many years on the soccer field which we will always be great full to you for. May you Rest In Peace Gus.
