It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of our beloved patriarch Konstandinos (Gus, Kosta) Pantelidis. Born in Kalamia, Greece on May 15th 1933 and took his last breath on March 23, 2021 with his beloved wife and son by his side. Loving husband to Chrissoula, beloved father to Athena (Deena) and Vassili, most adored father-in-law to Georgia and Richard, cherished pappou to Stephen (Stavro) and Chris (Christo). His family spanned the globe, Greece, Switzerland, Germany, and Australia. His presence in their lives was never forgotten and he will be missed by every single one of them.

Kosta came to Canada in 1968 with his wife Chrisoula, children Athena and Vassili. He had an outgoing, larger than life, dynamic personality that drew people far and wide to him like a magnet. He had a brilliant smile and was the kindest, most generous man to both family and to strangers, a quiet hero to many. Kosta loved Greek and Pontian music and danced with all his heart.

Trained at a young age in the Greek military, as an electrician, He first moved to Switzerland and then to Canada to provide for his family. Limited in his English but filled with ambition, he continued his career as a self employed electrical contractor. His success enabled him to make many friends along the way. One such friend introduced him to a business that would plant a seed that would eventually blossom and grow into an fruitful endeavour for him and his whole family.

It started in Newmarket, in 1980, with Picture Frame Factory Warehouse, and grew in 1985 to included Select Art Galleries, all family run and operated. He was loved by staff, business associates, and clients. It was one of his proudest achievement as a family.
A devout and dedicated man, he volunteered and served on the parish council at Saints Panteleimon, Anna & Paraskevi Greek Orthodox Church of Markham for many years.

Kosta was an avid golfer and when he retired it became his passion. He adored his grandchildren and took every chance he could to make sure they knew it. He attended their sport games, musicals and would make sure to be front row at all graduation events. He was so very proud of their accomplishments: he was their number 1 fan.

May he always Rest in Peace and eternal be his memory.

All are encouraged to leave condolence messages, memories and stories through this memorial page. Thank you for your understanding, kindness and support during this difficult time.

It is with great sadness that I write this message of condolence. It was always a pleasure to speak with Mr. Pantelidis when I visited Select Art Galleries. He was a warm, witty and a gracious host. I know he was very well loved by his family and I enjoyed hearing news of Mr. Pantelidis shared with love and admiration by Georgia and Vassili. His generous spirit and commitment to making a difference is evident through the many contributions he and his family have made to the community. Our thoughts and prayers are with you as you celebrate a live well lived. His kindness will be long remembered.
Sincerely,
Shelley
