In memory of
Koko May Kinoshita
April 3, 1923 -
March 14, 2022
It is with heavy hearts that our family announces the peaceful passing of Koko Kinoshita (nee Sasaki) on March 14, 2022. Beloved Wife of the late Ritz Kinoshita (May 2020) for over 73 years, loving Mother to Raymond (Mary) and Gail (Stephen), cherished Grandmother to Elisabeth (Erik), Meredith (Robbie), and Hannah, proud Great-Grandmother to Harry, Cleo, and Patrick. Predeceased by parents Shigeru and Naka Sasaki, son Alan, and sister Fumi. Koko will be deeply missed by siblings Tsuru, George, Mary, and Jim, and many sisters- and brothers-in- law, nieces, and nephews.
Koko was born March 10, 1923 in Vancouver where the family lived on 7th Avenue prior to relocation to the Tashme Internment camp in 1942, followed by moves to Vernon in 1945, to Kelowna upon marriage in 1946, and finally to Toronto in 1950. Koko enjoyed a long association with the T Eaton Co from 1957 until retirement in 1988. Koko lived a long, full life, withstanding life's plateaus and valleys, while maintaining an indomitable spirit with abiding good nature. She will be remembered for her constant, loving support of her family, a strong sense of community, enjoying family get-togethers, and her love of the Blue Jays. Deep gratitude to the Boxgrove team at Chartwell Woodhaven in Markham.
Arrangements entrusted to Pine Hills Cemetery and Funeral Centre, to be followed at a later date by a private celebration of life. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Bayview United Church, the Canadian Cancer Society, or a charity of your choice.
