In Loving Memory: Kock Lim (William) Chao.

Kock Lim Chao, a beloved soul who touched the lives of many, passed away on August 24, 2023, at the age of 82. His departure has left a void in the hearts of family, friends, and the community at large.

Born on October 25, 1940, Kock Lim Chao lived a life filled with compassion, humbleness, and unwavering kindness to those around him.

Born and raised in Rangoon, Myanmar, Kock Lim Chao was a husband, son, father and grandfather and uncle to a large and extended family. From a young age, it was evident that he possessed an exceptional spirit.

Moving to Toronto, Canada in 1973 his academic journey began where he excelled in his studies of English as a second language. He worked throughout the years in Burma and Canada as a carpenter and then moved into the hospitality industry to help run a family business before retiring. He made significant contributions that will forever be remembered.

In his leisure time, Kock Lim Chao enjoyed pursuing various hobbies and interests. His love for playing Mah Jong and finding solace and enlightenment within the clacking of the tiles was always his favourite in the mornings and always set a smile on his face.

Kock Lim Chao leaves behind a legacy of love, compassion, and unwavering dedication to making the world a better place for his family. His memory will forever be cherished by his family and the countless lives he touched.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday September 7, 2023 from 2pm-7pm at the Pine Hills Cemetery and Funeral Home.

Though Kock Lim Chao may no longer be physically present, his spirit will continue to shine brightly through the memories shared by those fortunate enough to have known him.
