Peacefully passed away at home with his wife of 62 years by his side. Beloved husband of Maria (nee Jurak). Predeceased by his parents Friedrich and Frieda. Father of Monika (Domenico) and Harry (Susan). Opa to Athena, Alexia, Steven and Brenden. Brother to Dieter, Manfred and Eleonore. A memorial service will be held at Pine Hills Cemetery on December 3rd. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Parkinson Canada.

Klaus was born in Pforzheim, Germany in 1937. He was the second child in a large family of 7. His older sister died at the age of 2. Klaus grew up in a beautiful small town called Auerbach in Baden Wurttemberg. Life was challenging during his childhood throughout and post the Second World War. Due to the circumstances, Klaus became a man at very young age. During his teenage years, he met a beautiful young lady named Maria Jurak who had relocated with her family from Hungary to his small town. They fell in love and were married in 1957. They were soon blessed with their first child Monika. The young couple then decided to venture to Canada. Klaus went first to test the waters. One year later in 1960, Maria and her Mother (Teresa Jurak) and Monika joined him. They later settled in East York where their second child Harry was born. The young couple eventually purchased a house in 1972 even further east calling Scarborough home.

Klaus was an amazing handyman. There was nothing that he couldn’t fix and was able to build almost anything. Klaus’s initial trade was that of a tile layer but later went back to school and became a tool and die maker. His innovative skills allowed for a prolific career in the electrical and design industry. Klaus also had a great love of sports that was visible at a young age where he played for the local soccer team. His sports interest expanded to hockey and often took his young son to see the Toronto Maple Leafs. He was also a passionate fisherman and loved boating on Oxtongue Lake. Above all, Klaus was a family man. He loved his children and grandchildren. Maria and Klaus embraced their grandchildren and spent many fun hours with them at home and at the cottage. They also spent much of their free time attending their grandchildren’s events and became familiar faces at hockey rinks in the GTA.

The last years of Klaus’s life were difficult as he struggled with Parkinson’s disease. He bravely fought this disease with Maria constantly by his side. After a long battle, he died peacefully at home on November 28th. Your family and friends loved you Klaus and we will cherish our memories with you.
