In memory of

Kina Valtchev

July 8, 1933 -  February 22, 2025

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Kina Valtchev on February 22, 2025, at the age of 91 in Toronto, Ontario surrounded by her loving family. Kina is survived by her beloved husband, Konstantin Valtchev, with whom she shared 68 wonderful years of marriage. She was a loving mother and mother-in-law to Maria and Peter Mezes, and Darina and Chahe Dekirmendjian, as well as an adoring Baba to Christina and Patrick Szukics, Catherine and Harrison Arnold, Adriana and Jake Mandel and Andre Dekirmendjian. She was recently blessed with the arrival of her first great grandchild, Viviane Quinn Arnold.

Kina was fortunate to live an extremely full and vibrant life, which she shared with her devoted family and many friends. She was an open and accepting person with an immensely generous heart who loved to entertain, creating many wonderful and memorable meals for her many guests. Her strong faith sustained her throughout her life and provided her with a deep, profound wisdom which she enthusiastically shared. She will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her and we will await the day that we’re able to hear her beautiful singing voice once again.

Kina's funeral service will be livestreamed as of 10 a.m. on Saturday, March 1st. The link will appear above, beside her portrait. For those who wish to watch the recording, it will be available as of March 3rd under the media tab above.

In Kina's memory, donations may be made to the St. Dimitar Bulgarian Eastern Orthodox Church. The details can be found under the donations tab above.
