In memory of

Kim Phung "Phung" Mach MacLean

February 7, 1952 -  December 15, 2021

It is with deep sadness and sorrow to announce that Kim Phung Mach MacLean, age 69, passed away peacefully on Wednesday December 15, 2021 at Trillium Hospital due to complications of a stroke and previous battles with cancer.

Kim Phung was born in Saigon City, Viet Nam and immigrated to Canada in 1983. Her new life in a new country brought her many challenges. But it also brought her love. She married Carl MacLean in October 1990.

Phung loved to love on people. She would literally give you the clothes (purses, shoes, jewelry, ANYTHING!) of her back. She also shared her love of food such as Dim Sum and Pho with her grandchildren, Ethan and Paige.

For many years Phung worked at Motor Specialty and then pursued her passion as a Hairstylist and returned to school in 1999.

Phung and Carl had many adventures during their 31 year marriage and traveled extensively. Phung loved trinkets. There isn't a gift shop in Prince Edward Island that she hasn't visited.

Her memory will be forever cherished by her husband Carl MacLean and her sisters and brother: Hung Mach, Y Kim Mach, My Kim Mach, Vinh Thizu Mach, Duc Mach. She will be forever missed by her step-daughter Kim McDermott (MacLean), step-son-in-law Chris McDermott, grandchildren, brother-in-laws and sister-in-laws, as well as her many nieces and nephews. All of whom she loved and touched deeply.

Heartbroken to hear the news of Phung. She certainly was one of a kind. Her generosity held no bounds, and the love she had for her family was unmeasurable. I will always remember her warm smile, and her kind soul. My heart is with all who knew, and loved her. Rest easy aunt Phung❤

Dear Kim,

We are so deeply sorry for the loss of Phung. She was such a lovely lady who always smiled and brought joy to the people around her. I truly enjoyed seeing her at our family events and enjoyed chatting with her. She took great pride in her grandchildren Ethan and Paige and you her step daughter. You could tell home much your dad Carl loved Phung and that is a love that we all aspire to have. May you take comfort in knowing that Phung is no longer in pain and is at peace in a better place. We will keep you all in our thoughts and prayers. God bless you all.
