November 28, 2019
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Kim Loan Thi Truong. She passed away peacefully and surrounded by her three children at the Mackenzie Health Hospital in Vaughan on the morning of November 28, 2019 at the age of 62. She is the daughter of Tu Van Truong (d. 2015) and Be Thi Luong and the beloved mother of My Chi (d. 1978), Adam Minh Duc (Jane Lu), Mandy Bao Phuong (Sebastian Santa), and Michelle (Adrian Morka). She will be fondly remembered by her grand children, Lana Yen Mai Lam, Emma Yen Vi Lam, Evan Hieu Santa, Samantha Thao Santa, and Madison Isabella Lam.
Kim Loan was cherished by many people, including her extended Lam Family, her family in Vietnam and Denmark, her coworkers at Magna/Tesma (now Hanon), and her many friends, who will all miss her dearly.
She led her life with grace, dignity and love. She will be greatly missed every day by those who knew and loved her.
There will be a visitation and funeral (with Buddhist funeral ceremony) for Kim Loan at the Elgin Mills Funeral Centre on Thursday, December 5, 2019. After cremation, she will join her eldest daughter, Lam My Chi, at the Hue Lam Temple (236 Rhodes Ave in Toronto).
In lieu of flowers, friends and family can make a donation in memory of Kim Loan Thi Truong to the Princess Margaret Cancer Research Foundation. She received tremendous care from the staff and doctors at Princess Margaret during her year-long battle with pancreatic cancer. www.thepmcf.ca
