Kenny Woon Ken Eng passed away peacefully at home with his family by his side on Friday September 6, 2019.

Kenny will be dearly missed by wife, Sussy So Yi Shum; son, Philip (Carol) and daughter, Lily (Frank); grandchildren, Gregory (Carrie), Shari (Lee), Cassidy and Sebastian; great grandchildren, Ireland, Mitchell, Kylie, and Avery; and, scores of nephews, nieces and extended family that span three generations.

Kenny was predeceased by his first wife, Nancy Heung Nam Lee Eng, and his siblings, Jimmy, Johns, Hung Kwoon Goon and their respective spouses.

Born in Toishan, Guangdong, China, Kenny immigrated to Canada in 1949 and became a restaurateur in Coniston and Sudbury, and later, a salesperson in Toronto. He enjoyed traveling, fishing, painting in Chinese watercolours and listening to Cantonese opera.

The family will receive friends during a visitation at Pine Hills Funeral Centre and Cemetery, 625 Birchmount Road, Scarborough, Saturday September 14, 10:00 a.m. This will be followed by a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. and interment at 12:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy and condolences may be made either in person or digitally through this online memorial. If desired, memorial donations may be made to preferred charities.

The family is grateful to the health care team at Scarborough Health Network, Birchmount Hospital, and especially to Dr. Sandra Marcus and community home-care PSWs, Lily, Titto, Mei Lin and Linda, for the compassionate care that they exemplified in the practice of their professions.

Dear Eng family,
I had just recently hear of your great loss. My memories of Kenny are nothing but the fondest. We always had a great time and a witty joke for all occasions.
We would often go to chinatown for lunch when he gets good "spiff" - as kenny would say a high guide number

From our family to your family, our deepest sympathies and condolences on your loss.

Apart from our family get togethers, my fondest memories of Uncle Kenny were discussing camera gear and trying to get a deal. While his legendary salesmanship at Toronto Camera were well known, my first encounter with him and cameras was at a Woolco camera department store in Sudbury Ontario, where I believe was his first camera sales job. I had gotten my first Nikon and I still remember him telling me that Leica was the best. Kenny will be sorely missed.
