In memory of

Kenny Hin-Kun "Ken" Chow 曹顯勤先生

September 26, 1957 -  September 29, 2024

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Kenneth (Kenny Hin-Kun) Chow. He passed away at Trillium Health Partners’ Mississauga Hospital on September 29, 2024 at the age of 67. He was a beloved husband, father, brother, uncle, and colleague to many around him. Ken was known for his strong work ethic, standing up for his beliefs, and his sense of humour. He was a passionate stormwater management engineer with a love for finding new and creative solutions. Above all, he loved his family deeply. He was a devoted husband to Sandy, and a loving father to Gregory and Samantha.

Ken grew up in Mississauga and later moved to Brampton. He attended the University of Waterloo for Engineering and started his career as an engineering consultant after graduation. He later started his own engineering consultant firm with one of his best friends, Casey.

He enjoyed coaching and watching his kids play hockey and baseball, rarely missing a game, and was a loyal Toronto sports fan. Most of all, he loved golfing with his family and friends. He always looked at life through a positive lens and was known to always have a smile on his face, trying to make everyone around him laugh. He was able to enjoy many trips together with his family and treasured all the time he spent with them.

His sudden passing is felt deeply by his entire family and countless others who loved and admired him in his community. His family appreciates the overwhelming amount of support and kind words they have received in the passing days.

A Visitation is being held on Thursday, October 3, 2024. A Funeral is being held on Friday October 4, 2024. In lieu of flowers, it is kindly requested that donations be made to the following places and foundations: The Heart and Stroke Foundation, The Kidney Foundation of Canada, and the Coronary Care Unit in the Trillium Health Partners’ Mississauga Hospital. Although he is deeply missed, please continue to share your memories of Ken and keep him in your hearts.

I met the wonderful and awesome, Ken Chow, the first year I joined The Sernas Group as the marketing coordinator and right hand to our CEO at the time. From the moment I saw his smile, his warmth, the passion for his practice and family - I knew I was a lucky girl! We went on to utilize the updated proposal templates created that year and became fast friends.

My heart will always remember Ken’s huge heart! May it be peaceful where he is now.

On behalf of myself, and my entire family, we send condolences to everyone touched by this massive loss. May fond memories and love keep your hearts strong during this very difficult time.

With sincere regards,

Jules (Juliette) Gushevska

Ken was one of the greatest colleagues I know. I don’t know of anyone who didn’t say “I want to be like Ken when I grow up” (regardless of their age at the time of making that statement.)
He was a coworker, but more than that Ken was a friend and a mentor. He will be incredibly missed. 💔

We worked together briefly but happily. You were a great colleague, and you were and will continue to be the life of the Sernas Christmas Party

Ken was ALWAYS making people laugh, even my own kids knew Uncle Ken was the Fun-uncle. A deep loss, felt by all that knew him.
