In memory of

Kenneth McIntosh

April 27, 1938 -  February 14, 2022

Peacefully on February 14, 2022, surrounded by family in Toronto, Kenneth McIntosh at the age of 83. Beloved partner of Candis Bod. Dear father of Cathy (Jeff Buck) and Phil (Lane Martin). Proud and loving grandfather of Phil's daughter's Avery and Zoë. He is also grieved by Cathy's stepchildren Sophie, Emma and Charlie. Ken was predeceased by his wife, Joyce (Phillips), and his brother and best friend Gordon. He was the son of Robert G. and Mabel (Merrell) McIntosh of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.

Ken was born and raised in Saskatoon and earned a law degree form the University of Saskatchewan. After graduating, his career as a federal public servant took him to Bern, Switzerland, Cologne, Germany and Ottawa, Ontario before settling in Toronto. He will be remembered as gentle and unassuming. He was a lover of animals, reader of books and a raconteur; "a gentleman and a scholar."

A private memorial attended by close family is planned for the spring. He will rest in the Mount Pleasant Cemetery, where many hours were spent exploring trees, birds and local history.

The family wishes to thank the staff on the Coombs Unit of the Isabel and Arthur Meighen Manor, and all health care workers who provide care for those we cherish during their final months. Their hard work and dedication does not go unnoticed.

If so desired, memorial contributions can be made to the Alzheimer, Canadian Cancer or Toronto Humane Societies.

I only knew Candis and Ken during their short stay at Meighen Manor and despite Ken’s advanced illness you could recognize the person that he was. It was obvious that the relationship between Candis and he was very devoted. Candis was constantly there beside Ken providing him with gentle care at every mealtime. Candis, I send my sympathy to your extended family and yourself. Hoping that you find comfort in your memories and knowing that you did the very best for Ken.
