In memory of

Kenneth Hudson Kent

September 18, 1930 -  April 1, 2024

It is with great sadness that we share that Kenneth Hudson Kent passed away suddenly on April 1, 2024 in his 94th year.

Ken was born September 18, 1930 in Toronto, Ontario. After finishing high school Ken studied journalism at Ryerson Polytechnical Institute. His first job opportunity was as a copy writer at Simpsons in their advertising department. This was the kickstart to a long
career in advertising.

Not long after, in October1953, Ken joined some old Ryerson classmates at a football dance in London, Ontario where he met Jean Jolly, the love of his life. They were married just a year later on October 2, 1954.

Ken’s career continued to move forward with stints at other advertising agencies and then settling into a rewarding career of more than 25 years at McLaren Advertising. And raising a family of 3 children.

Ken was an avid reader of mystery and crime novels and a huge lover of all things Disney with his favourite character being Mickey Mouse. He loved to spend time supporting his children’s and grandchildren’s sports or activities and could be found coaching baseball or cheering from the stands.

Kenneth is predeceased by his parents Howard and Dorothy Kent, his in-laws Fredrick and Miriam Jolly. He is survived by Jean, his wife of almost 70 years, his children Blake (Cathy), Cheryl (Bob Samson), Geoff, 7 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.

Services will be held at York Funeral Centre, 160 Beecroft Road, Toronto. Visitation at 1:00 PM Service at 2:00 PM

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Diabetes Association.
