In memory of

Natalie Kazimierczak

June 26, 1924 -  June 5, 2024

It is with profound sadness we announce the passing of our mother, grandmother and great grandmother Natalie Kazimierczak. Natalie passed away peacefully at home on June 6 at the age of 99 just four weeks shy of her 100th birthday. Wife of late husband Wojciech (Albert), mother of George (Andrea), Jolanta (Brian), and Helen, grandmother to Leslie (Brian), Katie (Jimmy), and Michael and great grandmother to Reid, Logan, Dexter, Mason and Jacob. Upon the passing of her husband in 1975 our mother continued to raise her three children with compassion, generosity and a lot of humor.
One of her favorite joys was to entertain her family by preparing incredible meals serving varieties of her famous cabbage rolls, perogi, soups and desserts in addition to any and all European dishes she could in create. Her Christmas dinners were legendary and on more than one occasion there would be a dish missing from the table that she forgot she had made. She always made sure there was more than enough leftovers to take home. During the summer her love for her garden was her great passion. A passion that she passed down to her daughter Jolanta and granddaughter Leslie. During her later years, and despite failing vision, she continued to love to read and continued to learn what the world had to offer. She will now fill the last empty seat at a large table with our late father, friends, Ella and Tom, Ziggy and Jean, from Toronto, Joe and Fran from Chicago and Joe from Guelph. This group that survived the war and came to Canada and the United States to raise their families and finally back together again, sharing stories and drinks. To paraphrase a film quote by Al Pacino, "She was a witness to our lives. There is one less person on this earth who knows our name and remembers our childhood. Who shared in each good and bad moment we had". A special thank you to her caregiver Dani Manalo who worked diligently to make our mother happy, comfortable and well cared for these past four years. Thank you also to all PSW workers, especially Caroline, who made sure our mother had her baths on Tuesdays and Fridays whether she cooperated or not with the process. Thank you to nurse Ellie and Dr. Grossman of the Mackenzie Health Palliative team for their wonderful care.
ln lieu of flowers please make a donation to your charity of choice to honor our mother.
