In memory of

Kay Karolidis

January 5, 1959 -  July 21, 2024

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Kay Karolidis (nee Pelopidas) on July 21, 2024, at her home in Georgetown, Ontario, after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.

She was surrounded by her loving family: her devoted husband Lou, her loving Mother-in-Law Vicky, her sons Peter (Luisa) and Daniel (Diana), and her seven cherished granddaughters, Daniela, Erica, Ava, Madison, Julia, Lucy, and Tessa. Kay's final moments were filled with the joyous sounds of her family, a reflection of the vibrant and loving life she led.

Kay was predeceased by her parents Joseph and Elizabeth Pelopidas, and was the proud sister of John Pelopidas (Elly) and “Auntie Kay” to Joe (Effy) and Chrissy.

Kay's love for her granddaughters was unparalleled; they were her pride and joy. Known affectionately as "Niania," she was a devoted and protective grandmother who found immense fulfillment in nurturing and loving her girls. Her friends and colleagues witnessed the pure joy and love her granddaughters brought to her life, inspiring her tireless fight against cancer.

Throughout her life, Kay wore many hats, but the ones she cherished most were those of mother and grandmother. Her unwavering dedication to her family was evident in every aspect of her life, and her perseverance and strength were a source of inspiration to all who knew her.

In memory of Kay, donations can be made to Pancreatic Cancer Canada in lieu of flowers.
