In memory of

Kay (Calliopi) Retsinas

October 15, 1937 -  November 8, 2023

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother Kay.

Loving wife to the late Stavros Steve Retsinas. Daughter to the late Norman and Petrina Terzis. Loving mother of Tommy (Rose) and Norman. Cherished grandmother to Steven (Danielle), Jordan (Stephanie), Justin (Andrea) and Adam. Adoring great grandmother to Henry. Survived by her sisters Sophie and Niki. Loving Aunt to Lorie, Denise, and Eugenia.

Kay’s greatest love was her family. She loved family gatherings, where she prepared the most beautiful meals and ensured that everyone left with food to take home with them. She loved flowers and gardening, especially Orchids and had a magical way of having them flower over and over again. Kay loved to travel and went on many trips with large groups of friends. Kay stayed connected to her family and friends with daily phone calls.

She will be greatly missed by everyone that knew her. Kay will be forever in our hearts.

Friends may call at the Elgin Mills Funeral Centre, 1591 Elgin Mills Road East, Richmond Hill (SE corner of Elgin Mills and Leslie – 905-737-1720) on Tuesday, November 14, 2023 for a visitation from 2 – 4 pm and 6 – 8 pm. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, November 15,2023 at 11 am at Elgin Mills Funeral Centre. An interment to follow at Elgin Mills Cemetery. Luncheon to follow at Astoria Shish Kebob House, 1620 Elgin Mills Road East, Richmond Hill.

I'm so sorry for your loss.
Your moms passing is a huge loss to all of us. I will miss her so much.
Auntie Kay was strong, kind, generous, and caring. I can still hear her laugh.
I have never known anyone who had so much strength. Your mom fought the hard battle for several years, and now she has found peace. I have so many happy memories of your mom. They will be in my heart forever.

Kay was the kindest, most loving, spunky and fun-loving woman. Even as her health declined she could laugh and find joy in the simplest things. She was incredibly proud of her sons and grandchildren and would often speak about her admiration for them all. She will be greatly missed. We’ll miss you Kay. Send our hellos to your beloved Steve.
