In memory of

Kathleen Dilkas Kanetos

May 18, 1978 -  December 9, 2017

It is with broken hearts that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved wife, mother, daughter and sister Kathleen. She was a beautiful and caring person who touched the lives of many. Kathleen was the beloved wife of Mano and the cherished mother of Ella, Ethan and Madeleine. She will be deeply missed by her devoted parents Mike and Olga Dilkas, her parents-in-law Mihalis and Argyro Kanetos, her loving brother Steven, his wife Lina, grandparents Elia and Thelma Gulin, and by her nieces and nephews, Maria, Alexandra, Michael and Otis. She will also be forever remembered by many extended family, friends, colleagues and cherished students.

Family and friends will be received at ELGIN MILLS CEMETERY & FUNERAL CENTRE, 1591 Elgin Mills Rd.E., Richmond Hill (east of Leslie St., 905-737-1720) on Wednesday, December 13th from 5:30-8:30 p.m. A funeral mass will be held at St. Panteleimon Greek Orthodox Church, 11359 Warden Ave, Markham on Thursday, December 14th at 10 a.m. Interment to follow at Elgin Mills Cemetery.

We would like to extend our sincerest gratitude to Markham Stouffville Hospital for all of its care. We would especially like to thank the Emergency Department staff for their support and compassion and the Critical Care team, including Dr. Anand Doobay, for their valiant and unrelenting efforts.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Markham Stouffville Hospital in Kathleen’s name. These donations will support the family’s goal of establishing a continuing education bursary to honour her passion and legacy. The link to make a donation is found below.

We have included a number of photographic memories which can be found on the photo tab above.

I write this with a heavy heart. I am utterly devastated with the sudden passing of my dear friend Kathy, the most sweetest and beautiful person, inside and out. I cannot wrap my head around this tragedy. Mano, I'm thinking about you and your beautiful children and her wonderful family and will keep you all in my prayers. My deepest regret is not talking or spending time with her more. Even though life got busy, we still managed to have some sweet conversations over the phone and kept in touch as much as we could (but I wish it were more) and we were there for each other's milestones. We shared a lot of wonderful memories that I will cherish forever. I feel privileged to have known her and had nothing but the utmost respect and love for her. She was amazing, beautiful and I will never forget those gorgeous eyes that twinkled when she spoke and looked at you. You and your gorgeous children were her light; you could tell. Kathy, I will miss you, but your memory and sweet face will live on in my mind and heart forever.

Never ever be forgotten lovely angel,
Sophie

It is with shock and sorrow that I send my deepest sympathies to Kathy's family and friends. I was in her class at CMCC and she was a good friend to me during those tough years. She was always so kind and had a wonderful smile- a truly special person.

Kathleen was such a positive, warm, generous person. Such a kind soul. She will be deeply missed. Know that her legacy lives on in her beautiful children, and all of the students whose lives she touched and impacted.
