In memory of

Kathleen Hallam

April 4, 1930 -  December 18, 2019

It is with great sadness that we announce that our Mom, Kay Hallam (nee Burtt), passed away on December 18, 2019 in her 89th year after a very short stay at the Michael Garron Hospital. Mercifully, she passed quickly and peacefully. Kay was born on April 4, 1930, in Burtt’s Corner, New Brunswick. Kay was earlier married to Ben Hallam and was the daughter of the late Charles and Jen Burtt (nee Foster).

In her 20’s, Kay decided to make a big move to Toronto to find work and join her sister Marie Burtt and good friend Alta Rosborough. Kay enjoyed living in the Toronto area with her family for the rest of her life. However, she treasured her frequent visits to New Brunswick to be with her beloved extended family. We remember our Mom for her dedication to her family -- caring for us, bringing us together, providing us with unconditional love and forgiveness and facing her life challenges with much courage and perseverance. Rest in peace, Mom.

Kay is survived by her daughters Pat Hallam-Mark, Bev Tuazon, her beloved grandsons Hunter and Max Tuazon and Jack Mark, her sons-in-law Phil Mark and Kerwin Tuazon and her only surviving sibling, Ralph Burtt (Sadie). She is also survived by many loving and wonderful nieces and nephews and their children.

Kay is predeceased by her former husband Ben Hallam, her brothers Edwin (Laura), Ashley (Anne), Cecil (Effie), Raymond and Alton and her sisters Hazel Dunphy (Ellis), Gertrude Reid (George), Marie Burtt, Inez Gorman (Jack), Annie Burtt and Shirley Crandall (Doug).

We would like to thank the staff at the Millwood Retirement Home for their excellent care and compassion over the past few years and staff at the Michael Garron Hospital.
