In memory of

Katharine Renison

July 25, 1950 -  January 22, 2025

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Katharine Elizabeth Gail Renison, who died peacefully on January 22, 2025, at the age of 74.

Katharine was born on July 25, 1950, in Toronto, the cherished middle child of Col. George Everett Bristol Renison and Nancy Stirrett Renison. She attended Havergal College before pursuing her studies at Queen’s University, where she began her path to a distinguished career in law.

Katharine was predeceased by her beloved husband, Charles Alexander Kosa, who was the great love of her life. Together, they built a beautiful family and raised three children: James (Cindy), Sarah Daisy (Dan), and Patrick. She was a proud and loving grandmother to four grandchildren: Victoria, Charlotte, Ava, and Axel.

Katharine’s legal career was deeply rooted in public service. Her work in legal aid and the Ministry of Community and Social Services reflected her dedication to justice and her fierce advocacy for others. In her personal life, she was known for her quick wit, mischievous humor, and steadfast loyalty to her friends and loved ones.

A devoted mother, Katharine embraced her children’s passions, spending many joyful days sailing, skiing, and horseback riding. Following Charles’s passing, Katharine relocated to Hamilton to be close to her children attending McMaster University. Once Daisy and Pat had settled in the area, she moved to a farm in Ancaster, where she found peace and contentment. She also took up country dancing, where she met her friend Mark. In her final years, Katharine faced the challenges of dementia with grace, retaining her playful spirit and strong desire to remain connected with her family.

I cherish the time we had working relations at Pathex. She was a respected person and for me also a good friend.
