Mr. Kandavanam Jayenthiran was born April 17, 1948 in Ariyalai, Jaffna and lived in Thornhill, Canada. He passed away suddenly but peacefully in Chennai, India on January 20, 2024.

He was the beloved son of late Sadayar Kandavanam and late Kanagamma Kandavanam, and Son-in-law of late Saraswathy Kanagasabapathy and late Kanagasabapathy Thambipillai

My dear Appa, you always referred to me lovingly as your daughter, and you certainly always treated me as if I was. I felt your love in so many ways. Your unwavering support, constant care and concern, wise words of advice and guidance.... you even reduced the spice in your cooking to please me, even though it displeased your son. I am grateful for the years I was blessed to have you in my life, and will especially cherish the wonderful memories we created together as a family in Sri Lanka just last month. I love you very much.

A truly kind a loving man who I have never seen without a smile on his face. Constantly invited our family to his family events despite already having so many relatives. His amazing qualities live on through Jeevan and have affected all of our lives for the better. יהי זכרו ברוך (his memory should be blessed)

Kala, Jeevan and family-please accept our heartfelt sympathy at the untimely passing of Jay.
Over the last 7 years we were privileged to get to know Jay for the wonderful man he was. He embraced us as true family members, enjoying our cultural similarities while respecting our differences. Jay was a true gentleman and a man of conviction, wonderful traits he passed on to Jeevan.
Most of all Jay was a true family man who loved and was deeply loved by Kala & Jeevan, Mara and the entire family. Our hearts are with you.
