In memory of

Kam Sing "Sam" Quon 關錦勝

March 2, 1938 -  May 23, 2022

Kam Sing Quon, affectionately known as Sam, passed away peacefully with family by his side, after a short battle with Lung Cancer.

Sam came to Canada in his late teens and worked multiple jobs before going to Hong Kong to marry the love of his life, Gan, and then returning to Canada, settling in Niagara Falls in 1966.

Sam worked as a chef in multiple establishments (Fallsway, Bamboo, Your Host) and either a co-owner or owner (Lee-Wai, China Doll, Great Wall) of restaurants all in the Niagara Region, meeting and getting to know great friends along the way before retiring in 2003.

Sam and Gan moved to Scarborough after retirement and was able to travel to many places including China, Korea, cruising the Carribean Islands, Hawaii, Dominican Republic, Cuba, Los Angeles, San Francisco and of course Las Vegas.

Sam leaves behind his loving wife of 56+ years, Gan and his children - Oldest Daughter Jenny, son in-law George, grandchildren Callee and Michael, second daughter Anne, son in-law Steve, grandchildren Jonathan and Jessika, youngest son Tom, daughter in-law Christine, grandchildren Nicholas and Cody.

Sam will be deeply missed but always in our hearts.

I already miss you, Sam, your humors, smiles, and kind character. I am still grateful of your generosity and open your family to a stranger like me while I need assistance. You are my father in my heart and your family is considered my family. You will be remembered forever.
