In memory of

Justino Silva Ferreira

September 30, 1939 -  April 15, 2022

Justino Silva Ferreira passed away peacefully on Good Friday, April 15, 2022, at the age of 82, following a courageous battle with cancer. He leaves behind his loving wife of over 52 years, Alice, his son Rui, his daughter-in-law Christine Karakasis, and his grandsons, Elias and Leo. He is pre-deceased by his son, Paulo, and 4 siblings. Born and raised in Mangualde, Portugal, he was the second youngest of 9 children. An entrepreneur early in life, he owned an appliance business in Portugal prior to immigrating to Canada with his young family in 1974, where he devoted the rest of his career to being a steelworker. A consummate provider, he worked tirelessly to provide a better life and opportunities for his family that he never had. Justino’s immense passion for life was evident in his joy of simple pleasures, none greater than time spent with his family, and in particular his grandsons whom he adored. His kind nature and friendly demeanor will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 23, 2022 at York Funeral Centre (160 Beecroft Road, Toronto) from 10-11 am, followed by a funeral service at 11am, and burial on the York Cemetery grounds. Online condolences may be made at www.etouch.ca. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Humber River Hospital Foundation (www.hrhfoundation.ca).

My Dear Rui, Christine and Family. Thinking of you at this difficult time. My Condolences to you and the family.
Gone from your sight, but not from your Heart.
May you find Peace during this difficult time.
We have to hope in God’s Love. We have to endure, but, endurance curries much Power and meaning; and in the end becomes our Consolation.

May the Cherished Memories bring Comfort in the days ahead. With each New day, may Peace find a place in your Heart. Thinking of you in my Prayers.
