Juris Verners Jankevics

May 26, 1951 - April 17, 2023

On the evening of Monday April 17th, 2023 passed away peacefully in Midland after a long fought battle with cancer in his 72nd year.

Juris is survived by his daughters Kristina Rose (Michael) and Aleksandra Foulis (Brian) and grandsons Markus, Kristian, Lukas and Jakub.

Predeceased by his parents Alfreds and Sylvia and his sister Irene.

Juris Jankevics led a remarkable life. After over 35 years of being a world travelling Mechanical Engineer, Juris retired in Midland where he quickly became an active member of his community as President of the Tiffin Homeowners Association and Vice President of the Midland Camera Club. Being involved in his community was important to Juris, but his greatest joy came from spending time with his daughters and grandsons.
He will be greatly missed by the many people whose lives he touched in his 71 years.

A memorial service will be held honouring Juris’s life on Sunday April 30th at 11:00 am at York Cemetery, with visitation at 10:00 am.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Princess Margaret Cancer Centre in memory of Juris

Kristi,

I am so sorry for the loss of your father. I know the two of you were very close. Know that he is in God’s hands, and heaven has another angel. Juris was a very nice man and a wonderful neighbour to Ron and I. Having just lost my mom and dad in the last six months, I know how difficult things will be for you. If there is anything Levi and I can do for you please do not hesitate to ask. Your father will be greatly missed by many.
