In Loving Memory of Julita Del Carmen Almaria
January 10, 1934 - March 11, 2025

With deep sorrow, we announce the passing of Julita Del Carmen Almaria, lovingly known as Julie or Nanay, to those close to her. She left us peacefully after a courageous battle with Lewy Body
Dementia. She was a woman of resilience, strength, and unwavering dedication to her family.

Born in the Philippines, Julita became a widow at just 25 years old , left to raise her young children alone. Determined to provide them with a better future, she immigrated to Canada in 1969,
sacrificing everything familiar to support her family. She worked tirelessly to ensure her children had the opportunities she fought so hard to give them. She was the driving force behind
transforming the lives of three generations of her family. Beyond her immediate loved ones, she also played a vital role in helping her nieces build better lives abroad, offering them support and
opportunities to succeed.

She spent 23 years at TD Bank, where she was known for her strong work ethic and dedication. She took pride in her job and always putting in the effort to excel. Her work was not just a means
of survival—it was a testament to her determination to build a stable life for her family.

Throughout her life, Nanay endured profound loss, including the passing of her youngest son, Simplicio (Jones) Almaria. Despite her hardships, she remained the pillar of her family, never
allowing grief to define her but instead using it as a reason to hold her loved ones even closer.

She is survived by her three loving children: Alma Bella Ramos, Bella Flor Velazquez, and Belinda Vasquez. Her grandchildren were the center of her world, and she cherished every moment with
them, finding joy in their laughter and accomplishments. Whether through home-cooked meals, shared stories, or simple moments of presence, she made sure they knew they were deeply loved.

She remained active in the Filipino community as a member of the Alitagtag Association of Canada and a volunteer at the Filipino Center Toronto (FCT) for over 10 years. She also sang in the St.
John 23rd Parish choir, and found joy in lively gatherings and celebrations. Her love for singing and dancing was a constant throughout her life, bringing happiness to those around her.

Her final years were marked by her battle with Lewy Body Dementia, which slowly took away the independence she worked so hard to maintain. Yet, even in her illness, her love for her family
never faded.

Nanay’s life was one of sacrifice, resilience, and love. She leaves behind a legacy of hard work, perseverance, and devotion to family. Though she is gone, her impact remains in the lives she
touched. She is deeply loved and will never be forgotten.
