December 11, 2022
CONLON, Julie Frances (née Hooper) 1965 – 2022 Julie Conlon passed away on December 11, 2022, at the age of 57 after a courageous battle with cancer. As she was throughout her life, she was positive and hopeful to the end. Julie was born and raised in Scarborough, the youngest of five children. She graduated from York University and had a successful career in banking, primarily in Technology. Julie most enjoyed spending time with her loving husband Desmond and her wonderful sons Aidan and Declan. She loved to travel and hike with Des and cheer for her boys, her pride and joy, at their lacrosse games and other sports. She also liked to play sports and stay active herself, especially enjoying hockey, softball and volleyball. Julie was the caregiver and organizer of the extended family, who all adored her. She got everyone together regularly, usually at her house, and provided loving support to anyone who needed it, especially her parents in their later years. When it came to friends, Julie had a one-way valve. She happily added new friends to her circle but valued and invested in old friendships. She thoroughly enjoyed her time with her many groups of dear friends, old and new. Julie was special to so many and, although she was taken too early, we are eternally grateful for the time we had with her. Julie is survived by her husband Desmond; her sons Aidan and Declan; her father Albert (Ester); her siblings John, James, Nancy and Barbara (Allan); her brother and sister-in-law Mick (Diane) and Kathy; her nieces and nephews Jeff, Cynthia, Mary, Catherine and Matthew, and her many aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, and co-workers. Julie was predeceased by her beloved mother Georgina and her parents-in-law Kevin and Anastasia. In lieu of flowers, donations to Sunnybrook Foundation, Odette Cancer Centre program, would be appreciated. A celebration of Julie's life will be held at the Toronto Hunt Club on Friday January 20th from 6:00-9:00 PM. The Hunt Club has a dress code in place, please dress accordingly (No Denim)
