In memory of

Jugita Langenfelds (nee Salzirnis)

December 23, 1933 -  October 13, 2020

(A link for the live-streaming of this service will become available at the top of this page approximately 5 minutes before the beginning of the scheduled events)

Jugita passed away peacefully on October 13, 2020 at Mount Nemo Christian Nursing Home at the age of 86. Married to Elmars (+2015) for 64 years, Jugita was a beloved mother to Rita (Agostinho), adored grandmother, “Memme," of Peter (Kristin), Alex and Diana, and great-grandmother of Cole. She also leaves behind her son Eriks (Isabel) and grandchildren Erika, Christian and Elisa.

As a young girl, Jugita had to flee her native country, Latvia, due to WW2. She settled in Ontario where she met her husband and married. Through her determination and hard work, she was able to create a loving, comfortable home for her family. Her strength and resilience helped her and her husband adapt to the challenges of a new country and language.

Jugita was a forward thinking woman, well ahead of her time. Her kindness, generosity, and honesty touched everyone she met, whether they were family, life long friends, or new acquaintances.

Jugita, Mom, Memme…. you will be missed.

Many heartfelt thanks to the caring nurses, PSW’s, doctors, and staff at Mount Nemo Christian Nursing Home. Your extraordinary support, dedication, and kindness is very much appreciated.

In lieu of flowers, a donation to an Alzheimers/Dementia organization or charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated.

My heart goes out to Rita and Eriks. Jugita was like a 2nd mother to Edite and I as we were growing and spending summers at Six Mile Lake.
Truly a lovely, classy and warm person.
