In memory of

Juanita Fern Harris

April 3, 1928 -  September 12, 2024

It is with both sadness and the comfort of our faith in the saving grace of our Lord Jesus Christ that we announce the peaceful passing of Juanita Fern Harris, who was called home to be with her Lord and Saviour on Thursday September 12, 2024, at the age of 96. She passed away at AgeCare Samac, long-term care residence in Oshawa. Although she is now absent from the body, we know with certainty that she is present with the Lord and rejoicing in His presence.
Throughout her life Juanita was very active in Calvary Baptist Church Oshawa’s prayer chain, missions circle, choir and various bible study groups. One of her favourite Bible verses was:

“Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life; And I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.” Psalms 23:6

Juanita was predeceased by her beloved husband, William Harris, whom she loved dearly throughout their fifty-four years of marriage. She leaves behind a loving legacy through her children, Maureen Todd (Howard), Peter Harris (Debbie), and Ellen Peppiatt (David). Her memory will also be cherished by her grandchildren, Stephanie (Craig), Ellicea (Stephen), Sarah (Ramy), Rachel (Seth) Benjamin, and Hannah, as well as her great-grandchildren, Evelyn, Willa, Emmaline, Olivia, Everly, Brielle, Elisabeth and William.
The family would like to extend special thanks to the dedicated nurses, personal support workers and staff at AgeCare Samac, whose compassion and care provided comfort to Juanita in her final years.

Donations in memory of Juanita may be made by cheque to Calvary Baptist Church Oshawa, 300 Rossland Road East Oshawa, ON L1G 2X1 or online at https://www.calvary.on.ca or e-transfers using a password (can be sent to giving@calvary.on.ca).

Sending my condolences to Juanita’s family. Juanita was a very special lady and we lovingly referred to her as our “work Mom” in the Town of Whitby Planning Dept. She was such a pleasure to work with & became a friend. While working I was part of the Friday lunch group with her & I enjoyed keeping in touch for many years after her retirement. Both her family and her faith were so important to her. Hoping you find comfort in your many wonderful memories of your Mom, Mother in Law, Grandma and Great Grandma

I am very saddened to learn about your Mothers passing. I have many memories from her days with the Whitby Planning Department. From seeing your dad, Bill, or grandparents picking her up from work to the day to her retirement.

Now, that party was a great celebration of appreciation.

Your mother was much loved by Staff. She was both a friend and a mom to many. Infact, she left her blue sweater in the closet next to her desk. I am not sure it is still there but I do know its presence was remembered by many who reached for it when they needed some warmth.

Your Mom was always proud of family and her children and spoke highly of all of you. I am sure her love will give you strength.
Sincerely
Bob Short
