Juan Torne, of Nangcayasan, Urdaneta, Pangasinan, Philippines died on Monday, December 04, 2017 at North York General Hospital, Toronto, Canada surrounded by loved ones. He was 72. He was born on June 23, 1945 in Urdaneta, Pangasinan, Philippines. He was the second eldest out of seven children. He attended Saint Louis University and earned Bachelors of Science in Medical Technology. In 1973 he married Annie Corpuz and together they had 3 children, Edmund, Rhoda, and Joan and 5 grandchildren, Zsastynne, Toni Anne (TJ), Hannah, Brent and Jarrett. Juan worked as a medical technologist and x-ray technician at Urdaneta General Hospital for 26 years. He also worked as a farmer tilling family lands and was an avid business man. He dedicated himself in serving his family and community by being a successful multi-tasker. In addition to his profession in the medical field, he created and managed small businesses including his family’s farm lands. He enjoyed building relationships, spending time in the farm through planting, harvesting and caring for the farm animals. He moved to California with his family after retiring from the Philippines in 1997 and started a new career in care giving. Juan and Annie lived in Sunnyvale, Capitola and eventually bought their house in Salinas, California. They worked together in three convalescent homes and were known as “the couple.” Juan and Annie did everything together and were literally inseparable. They both retired in 2010 and moved to Ajax, Canada to spend more quality time with family. A unique soul, Juan was very hard working and a dedicated husband, father, grandfather, son, and a brother. Juan was a humorous man and enjoyed sharing jokes and funny comments with family and friends. He will be greatly missed. Juan is survived by his wife, children, grand children, four brothers and two sisters. A memorial service organized by Thornton Funeral Center will be held in Oshawa, Ontario on December 9, 2017. Dearest Papa,
May your soul rest in peace. Though you left us physically, we will never forget you. Our love for each other will always bind us all. You have shown love unconditionally and we thank you for everything. The values and principles in life you taught us is carried on by us and our two daughters, Zsastynne & TJ. You left us with many, many memories and we will cherish every bit of experiences we shared with you. We will miss you terribly. Words are not enough to let you know how much we love you, but we do.
Love,
Edmund & Judy

Dear Pa,
We love you and may you rest in peace. We will miss you so much. You have given us so much love, care and life lessons that we will carry on throughout our lives and will definitely pass on to Jarrett. We admire your strength, dedication and positive view on life. Thank you for teaching us unconditional love, encouraging us to be our best, and being a great father to us. As you have asked, we will “remember the good times” and carry them in our hearts until we too will join you.
“Death leaves a heartache no one can heal, love leaves a memory no one can steal.”
Love,
Joan & James

My Papa Dear,
Not a day passes by Papa that you don’t cross my mind. Not all of you departed when you left earth behind. For in my heart there is a place that only you can hold. Filled with our loving memories I care for more than gold. I know that you still hear me Papa so please know this is true. That everything I am today is all because of YOU. I Love You Papa!
