In memory of

Joyce Ivy Compton

October 4, 1941 -  April 13, 2025

Peacefully, surrounded by the love of her family, Joyce, our kind and loving Mum, Grandma, and Great Grandma, passed away unexpectedly at the age of 83 on Sunday, April 13, 2025, at Lakeridge Health Bowmanville.

She leaves behind a legacy of strength, love, and cherished memories. Predeceased by her devoted parents, Ivy and Thomas, and by the love of her life, her husband Richard, who passed away 21 years ago, Joyce is now reunited with him, together once again.

Joyce was the cherished mother of Janean and Samantha, a devoted Grandma to Angela (Carlos), Deanna (Daniel), Sean, Alexander, and Christopher, and a beloved Great Grandma to Mateo, Sebastian, Eloise, Sofia, and Elena.

Survived by her loving sisters, Ann and Carol, and predeceased by her brother Peter, Joyce was known affectionately as the "Iron Lady" for her incredible strength and courage, triumphing over four cancer battles with unwavering determination.

The greatest joy of her life was her family, whom she showered with unconditional love and created countless happy memories. Her heartfelt words, “I love you,” became a lasting legacy that she shared when parting with loved ones.

Joyce’s life was one of remarkable love, resilience, and devotion. She will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all whose lives she touched.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Joyce's honor can be made to the Lakeridge Health Foundation – Cancer Care, continuing her fight and compassion for those battling cancer.
