CONLON, Joyce

Passed away peacefully, with her loving family by her side at Lakeridge Health Bowmanville on December 26, 2018, at the age of 59. Loving mother of Amanda (Darryl) and Derek (Emma). Adored sister of Ingrid (Rick), Perry, and Ron. Joyce will also be fondly missed by Mike Conlon as well as by many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Those who knew Joyce will remember her for her love of family and baseball (the scorekeeper!), her great sense of humour, as well as her strength, tenacity and positivity. The family would like to express their heartfelt appreciation to Dr. Burke and the nursing staff of Lakeridge Health Bowmanville for compassion, care and professionalism shown to Joyce and her family. As per her own wishes, there will be no formal funeral service, a celebration of her life will be held at Woodview Community Centre (151 Cadillac Ave., North, Oshawa 905-576-4903) on January 12, 2019 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Truly a wonderful lady! Strong, smart, great sense of humour, always put family first. It was my honour to have known her through baseball and to call her a friend as a result. She fought a long, tough battle. Deepest condolences to the family on their loss. God bless.

So sad to hear of Joyce's passing. Joyce used to look after our now 27 year old daghter when she was an infant. She was a sweet fun loving person and will be sadly missed.

I was honored to have to the opportunity to meet Joyce, having the pleasure of being involved in her care on many of my shifts.
She always found the humor in everything presented to her. We had many great conversations, most with at least one chuckle. She expressed how much her children meant to her, and thankful for her friends and extended family.
I send my thoughts and prayers to everyone who has lost such a lovely woman. She will be missed around here!
