In memory of

Joseph Salim Haddad

March 10, 1939 -  February 15, 2023

“Jesus replied, ‘I assure you that today you will be with me in paradise.’” (Luke 23:43)

In the early hours of February 15th, 2023, Joseph Salim Haddad, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and brother passed away peacefully surrounded by family at the age of 83.

Joseph was born in Ain Dara, Lebanon in 1939 to Salim and Melvina Haddad. He was one of the first students to graduate the new public school system in Ain Dara in 1954. He worked as an accountant before moving to Kuwait to work in the oil industry. He moved to Canada in 1966 and found employment with the Canadian National Railway where he worked for 27 years, while he also worked as a real estate agent.

Joseph was instrumental in helping many families immigrate out of Lebanon during the civil war. He was selfless and received a sense of fulfillment when serving others. One such instance was St. Mary's church, where he was a pillar in establishing the church from the ground up, working diligently with other members for more than 20 years. He appreciated both the spiritual and social aspects of the church community. He was happiest when surrounded by family, sharing jokes and playing cards. Joseph's love of family and life was most evident when spending time with his five beautiful grandchildren.

Joseph is preceded in death by his sisters Samira (Daher), and Nadia. He is survived by his wife Farida; children Suzanne (Al), Richard Gaby, and Eddie (Lori); his grandchildren Anthony, Lucas, Madeleine, Matthew, and Callie; brothers Fouad (Amal), Ghassan (Feriale), Samir (Laura), George (Tammy), and sister Violette (late Georges).
