Peacefully, with his family by his side on Monday September 12, 2016. Loving husband and best friend of Patricia (nee Nemis). Beloved father of Lisa (Mike Middleton) and Lara (Julian Arend) and grandfather of Felix. Predeceased by his brother John and his wife Olga and his brother-in-law Jack Dromisky. Survived by his sisters Virginia (John Sevc) and Anne. He will be fondly remembered by his mother-in-law Sophia Nemis, his sisters-in-law Mary and Jean and many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. If desired, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.

Dear Pat,
We were so very sorry to hear of Joe's passing. We have known you & Joe for more than 50 years and have such good memories of you & Joe. We danced together, ate Ukrainian & Slovak food together, spent many New Year's parties together and laughed a lot. We had many happy celebrations together in Mississauga, Toronto, Calgary & Vancouver. May the memories of healthier happier times comfort you now at this difficult time.

Dear Pat,

Ingemar and I are so very sad to hear of Joe's passing. I have lovely memories of him - the first picture that came to my mind was of Joe, full of joy, laughing and making sausages at the camp. This might have been shortly after your wedding. Joe had the most beautiful smile and the kindest heart, and loved you so very much. Such a terrible loss for you, your girls and the whole family.
