September 25, 1923 - June 12, 2023

Joseph died peacefully in his sleep at his home on June 12, 2023 at the age of 99. Born in Zagreb, Croatia.

He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 71 years, Marie (Mimi), their children Joan (Scott), Dorothy (Anthony), and Louise (Peter), predeceased by sons Mark and Julio.

He was a devoted grandfather to Kaitlin, Sean, Elise, Nicole, and Lucas. He was a loving great grandfather to Owen, Frank IV, Roy, and Stella.

Private family service.

My dad had a remarkable life. He lived in Croatia and Italy. He survived WWII, chose to immigrate to Canada (while his brother chose to go to Argentina), met my mother while working at Our Lady of Mercy Hospital, married and raised a family of five, worked successfully as a civil engineer, designing highways such as the 401etc. I remember him helping me with high school Math. and Latin, introducing me to camping and classical music and opera. He enjoyed art, music, reading scientific and history books, walking in High Park, doing crossword puzzles, sunning, speaking different languages…and especially spending time with family.
