Jose Norberto Furtado Riquinha, 75 of Mississauga Ontario, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family on December 25th, 2018.

Jose was born on March 19th, 1943 in Vila Franca do Campo, São Miguel, Açores, Portugal. He immigrated to Canada in 1958, where he met the love of his life, Luisa and was married on September 4th, 1965. He worked at Canada Brick in Streetsville for over 45 years.

Jose is survived by his wife of 53 years, Luisa, son, Tony Riquinha, daughters, Margaret Gills and Nina (Jeff) Hunter and six grandchildren, Emily, Thomas, Matthew, Grace, Sofia and Joshua. He is preceded in death by his parents, Manuel Furtado Riquinha and Irene Cabral as well as his sister, Ilda Duque.

Funeral services will be held at Merciful Redeemer Catholic Church, 2775 Erin Centre Blvd, Mississauga on Monday December 31st 2018 at 10am, followed by Interment at Meadowvale Cemetery and Visitation Center, 7732 Mavis Road, Brampton, Ontario. Visitation at Meadowvale Cemetery and Visitation Center, will be held on Sunday December 30th 2018 from 4pm to 9pm. Pallbearers will be Tony D, Jeff, Michael F, Michael S, Thomas and Matthew.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Credit Valley Hospital.
