In memory of

José Luís Manique

October 12, 1930 -  August 25, 2022

José Luís Manique, just a few weeks prior to his 92nd birthday, passed away peacefully, after a short illness, on August 25, 2022. He lived his life with integrity and honour.

He sacrificed everything for his family. He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Maria Jacinta da Silva and cherished brother, Fernando Manique. He was a hero to his only-daughter, Helena Manique-Battista and his son-in-law, Elvio Battista, whom he regarded as his own son. He will be missed by his extended family and friends in Canada, the United States and Portugal.

José enjoyed sports, politics, and history. He was an avid reader who taught his daughter the love of learning through books. He also espoused the values of respect for all, acceptance of life with all its tribulations and successes, and to be kind and courteous. He was an exceptionally kind and selfless man, who approached life with positivity.
