Joong-Bae Lee was born in Busan, South Korea. He was the second eldest of five children. He was educated and worked in Korea as a train engineer. He married the late Duck-Kum Kim with whom he had four children. While returning to Korea from a business trip, he looked out the plane window at the smallness of the Korean peninsula and decided for his family to embark on a big new adventure. In 1969, the Lee family began its new life in Toronto, Canada. From 1970 to 1995, Joong-Bae worked as a machinist at John Thurston Company. He served many years as an Elder for the Church. He was a skillful golfer, swimmer, fisherman and ballroom dancer. He enjoyed traveling and studying maps, working and fixing things with his hands, watching sports and spending time with family and friends. His favourite food was sushi. Joong-Bae is survived by his children: Soon-Wo (+Sandra), Kyong-He (+John), Kyong-Soon (+Sang-Tae) and Kyong-Jin; five grandchildren: Thomas (+Caitlin), Christie, Katie, Robert, Mark (+Sharon) and great granddaughter, Sadie. We thank you for your adventurous spirit, courage and love. We will remember and miss you with much love and affection.
