It is with deep sadness we say goodbye to our father, brother and proud grandfather John William Burns. After a well fought battle, John passed away on January 9th, 2021, comforted by family and friends.
John was born in Michel Natal, British Columbia on March 21, 1939 to Reverend Donald Burns and his wife Jessie. John spent most of his childhood moving about Canada with his family on missionary journeys. While finally settling on Toronto as an adult, his love of travel never waned. His ambitious adventures and desire to meet new friends brought him great joy. John amassed an abundance of wonderful stories to share with all.
He will be fondly remembered and lovingly missed by his children, Susanne (Gus) and Mark (Jennifer), grandchildren Christopher, Nicholas & Carter and devoted brother Stephen.
