In memory of

John Wilfred Ransbury

January 7, 1940 -  May 28, 2023

It is with great sadness that we announce that John (Wilf) passed away peacefully in Richmond Hill on Sunday May 28th. With an always positive attitude he waged a long and courageous battle with cancer over the past many years. Pre-deceased by his wife of 29 years Yvonne (nee Pietersen) he leaves behind many loving family members and friends. A native of Grimsby, John spent time living in Hamilton, North York, Wasaga and most recently Thornhill. Our family cannot thank the staff at Princess Margaret Hospital enough, particularly Dr. Penelope Bradbury and team for their amazing care and support. If desired, in lieu of flowers remembrances may be made in John's name to the Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation. Cremation has taken place. Friends are invited to join the family at the Elgin Mills Cemetery, Cremation and Funeral Centre, 1591 Elgin Mills Rd E, Richmond Hill, visiting Friday June 2, 2023 from 1-3pm and 5-7pm.

To the family of John, I was so so sorry to hear of his passing. He was such a lovely man. I remember his wife Yvonne with such fondness. John was such a fixture in our Condo. He always had a smile and always was so positive with his cancer diagnosis! We often talked and always was so optimistic. He fought a good fight. I am so very sad and Will remember him always. He will be missed. Sending Love and light. My deepest Condolences to his family. Susan McCann.

Dad

The angels gathered by your side, very close to you
Because they knew the pain and suffering that you were going through

I thought about so many things well I held your hand
I wished that you were strong and healthy smiling once again

But your eyes were looking to that Special place above the sky
Jesus held his outstretched arms, it was time to say goodbye

I struggle with my selfish thoughts and wanted you to stay
So we could walk and talk for another day

Dad I hold you close in my heart and there you will remain
To walk with me all through my life until we meet again.
