In memory of

John Wesley "Wes" Grice

April 19, 1924 -  February 10, 2022

Wes died peacefully at home on Thursday, February 10, 2022. He joins his beloved parents, “Hatti” and “Fred”, who he cherished dearly.

Wes was the youngest of eight children: Harriot, Stanley, Glady, Neil, Garnet, Lloyd, and Art. He was born and raised in East York where he lived most of his life. He was a proud paper carrier in his early days and finished his career with Globe Envelopes at retirement.

Wes had a passion for his gardens, horses, and his Toronto sports teams. His fondest memories were the times spent with family at the cottage.

A very proud man who blessed us all with so much love and kindness over the years, Wes will be dearly missed.

A funeral will be held on Sunday, February 20, 2022 to honour Wes's life.
Please note that capacity limits are in place due to COVD-19 restrictions, as such all guests must register their attendance with Jennifer Byers directly.

In lieu of flowers, guests are asked to consider making a donation to Michael Garron Hospital, which was an important foundation for Wes and one that he supported over the years.

Dear uncle Wes. A memorable visit for Christmas dinner with grandad Grice to my home in Toronto with my five children and my mother and father. It was a honour to have my dear uncle and precious grandad for Christmas dinner …. Meeting my children enjoying their company… it was our first Christmas after the childrens father had died … we had moved from the farm in midland to Toronto close to family…
May you Rest In Peace dear uncle. God Bless
All
Our love Lynda and family

Uncle Wes and Grampa Grice had reunions at the cottage that we all enjoyed very
much. Horseshoe games, card games, canoeing, swimming, lots of talking, eating
and lots of refreshments. Uncle Wes loved to garden and he sure grew beautiful
fruits and vegetables. He loved to watch the hockey (Toronto Maple Leaf fan).
He also baked the best shortbread cookies. When he was younger he drew cartoons.
Goodbye Uncle Wes you will be remembered.

Wes absolutely loved to celebrate his birthdays with pepperoni pizza (which had to be from Pizza Nova) and vanilla cake! We celebrated his "39th birthday" many times together!
