John Walker was a loving husband and brilliant man. Born in Ireland, John came to Canada in 1950 to work as a carpenter. He married the love of his life Rose in 1955 and became a father to her son John. A few years later, Rose gave birth to their daughter Joanne. John worked as a carpenter, building mock ups of ships, planes and diving chambers for Canada's defence at Defence and Civil Institute Environmental Medicine, where he worked for 38 years.
After retiring he enjoyed photography and golf. He was married for 60 years. He took care of Rose until her passing.
John leaves behind brother Desmond, children John (Patti), Joanne (Dave), grandchildren Ben, Brandon, Gregory, (Pam), Kelsey (Christian). He was predeceased by parents James and Sarah.
A private service will be held on January 22nd.

Due to COVID 19 restrictions, the memorial service at Thornton Funeral Centre is by invitation only. Attendees 12 years and over will be required to show a valid QR Code or Dose Receipt showing they have received 2 valid doses of an approved vaccine and Photo ID to attend the visitation and/or funeral service at Thornton Funeral Centre. Masks that cover both the nose and mouth must be worn at all times while inside the Funeral Centre and physical distancing maintained.
