In memory of

John Ronald Scott

June 9, 1952 -  April 11, 2024

John Ronald Scott, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away on April 11, 2024, at the age of 71, after a courageous battle with ALS. Born on June 9, 1952, John was a man of unwavering strength, kindness, and devotion.

John leaves behind his cherished wife, Anne, his adoring daughters Suzanne (Ben) and Laura (Kris), and his beloved grandchildren Quentin, Dalen, Sienna, Nathaniel, and Jacoby. He is also survived by his dear sister Linda (Robert).

John was the epitome of selflessness, always placing his family above all else. He found joy in the simple moments spent with his loved ones and treasured every opportunity to be together. Whether coaching his daughters' soccer teams, attending school events, or proudly watching piano recitals, John's unwavering support and encouragement were constants in the lives of those he held dear.

An avid sports enthusiast, John had a passion for travel, golfing, and cheering on his favourite teams, the Raptors, Red Sox, and Chelsea Blues. He was a familiar face in the neighbourhood, often seen walking his dog and striking up conversations with neighbours along the way.

John's legacy of love, kindness, and dedication will live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered for his warm smile, gentle spirit, and boundless love.

The family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff at Sunnybrook Hospital for their care and compassion.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to the PKD Foundation of Canada or the ALS Society of Canada in John's memory, to support ongoing research and assistance for those affected by this disease.

A celebration of John's life will be held on Wednesday, April 17 at Pine Hill Cemetery and Funeral Centre (625 Birchmount Rd.). Visitation from 1-2 pm followed by the service at 2 pm. Please join the family for a reception at 3 pm.

I always looked forward to playing with John on the Tuesday Tour. We had many enjoyable talks about life, family, and sometimes even golf. Golf is only as good as the friends you play with, and John made a round lots of fun even if the scores didn’t reflect it. We will miss him.
