Peter Fletcher passed peacefully surrounded by his wife, Geraldine, and children, Zachary and Emily, after a courageous battle with a rare, aggressive form of cancer. He was born in Ottawa, Ontario and built his family in Aurora, Ontario. He was involved in the Aurora hockey community dedicating many years to coaching his children’s teams. His passion for sports led to many long lasting friendships which he cherished deeply.
In addition to his wife and children, he leaves behind his siblings Pam, Mark, Jeff and numerous brothers & sisters-in-laws, as well as nieces & nephews. He was a loving husband & father, amazing role model for his children and will be remembered for his good humoured, easy going approach to life.
In his words, "I had a good run. No regrets."
If so inclined, in lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to either Southlake or the Margaret Bahen Hospice in his honour. The hospice provided the most peaceful, beautiful, loving place to spend his final days enhanced by the caring, outstanding staff. The family would also like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the doctors and nurses at the Southlake Cancer Centre, who fought alongside Peter and our family with skill, dedication, and heart. Donation links can be found under 'Donations' in the menu or at the bottom of this page.
