In memory of

John Midgley

After a long, valiant battle, at the age of 64, John passed away July 12th,exactly how he wished- at home with his loving family by his side. Devoted husband and soulmate of Betty for over 30 years. Cherished Dad of Jake, Madeline and Carly (Bryan). Thoughtful son of Mae(late Durward).Beloved brother to Zee, John will be missed by his legions of friends spanning 6 decades, as well as his aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins, including Ellen (David). John’s devotion to family, amazing fortitude and love of nature and photography was obvious to all who knew him. He will be truly missed by all who were touched by his kind and generous nature. Visitation will take place at THORNTON FUNERAL CENTRE(1200 Thornton Road North 905-579-6787) on Thursday July 20 from 1pm until time of Celebration of Life at 2 p.m. in the Chapel. If desired, donations can be made to your local Community Living Chapter - or a tree can be planted in John's honour.

Midge was my good friend since the early 70's, and his thoughtfulness and dry sense of humour immediately endeared him to Doug, Jessica and myself. His kind, loving and attentive ways with my daughter Jessica greatly enhanced her young life. I remember the good times at Lemon Creek with Midge and Toronto friends, out west for the first time, learning the pioneer lifestyle. Lots of fun and much hard work!
Always being the loyal, caring friend, Midge kept in touch despite the distance, sending me pictures of his family and our other friends ongoing.
I will miss the friend I had in Midge, and will never forget.

John and I were friends in high school, my memory of him was as a very funny, kind and sensitive guy who loved to laugh. After high school he went his way and I went mine. Recently we were trying to reconnect but his health issues got in the way. My deepest condolences to the family.....the world is in dire need of more people like John.
