McNEE, John

Passed away, at Lakeridge Health Oshawa, on July 5, 2019, after a valiant battle with cancer. Loving husband of Eleanor(nee McGroggan) for over 60 years. Adored father of Andrew (Janice), Ian (Teena) and Kim. Cherished grandfather of Kevin, Katie, Adam, Mary and Ben. John was a beloved brother of William (late Ann), Tillie (late George), late Margaret (late Walter) and late Frances and brother in law of Winnie (Walter), Pat (Chris), late Danny (Patricia) and late John. John will be also missed by many nieces, nephews, extended family from Scotland and friends. He will be best remembered for his love and devotion to his family, generosity towards others and enjoying a round of golf. The McNee family would like to extend their appreciation to the doctors, especially Dr. Chandhok , Dr. Iqbal and the nursing staff of Supportive Care Unit on 4F at Lakeridge Health Oshawa for the care, compassion and professionalism shown to John and his family, words cannot express. Following his own wishes, no formal funeral will take place but a Celebration of his life will be held at THORNTON FUNERAL CENTRE, 1200 Thornton Road, Oshawa, (South of Taunton Road and off of Dryden Blvd, 905-579-6787) on Wednesday July 10, 2019 from 1-3 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations will be gratefully accepted for Supportive Care Unit or R.S. McLaughlin Cancer Centre at Lakeridge Health Oshawa.
