The years that I had the wonderful pleasure of knowing John have been such a blessing. His advice and life lessons, and even his jokes, will forever remain in my mind. He made me laugh! And he was full of so much wonderful worldly advice for myself and my family. We all loved our conversations with him. Though our relationship began at the Granite gym, we then ran into each other at the hockey rinks too. This is where I met John's daughter, Lynne, who I am honoured to say has become a dear friend and "sister". What a ride! John will be making me smile for years to come, and I look forward to sharing memories and giggles about John with you Lynne. Our deepest condolences to you, Jamaar, Daniel, Nadia and your entire family.
Nadia,
Thinking about you in your time of sorrow. Although I didn't know John that well I certainly could see how happy you were sharing your life with him.
Please know that you are in my thoughts and prayers.
Love
Sylvia Boulton.
Whenever I passed his house while walking, John would always greet me and ask about all members of our family. He was interested in all our kids and watched them grow up on the street. He was a truly good neighbor and friend to so many on Douglas. All who knew him will surely miss him.
May his memory be for a blessing.
I am so glad that I was able to see Uncle Jack during my visits to Canada over the years. The last I spoke with him was a few months ago over the phone. Uncle Jack always made me feel good to be in Canada and to be proud of Canada (My sister country). Also, he made me feel of value. He always had a friendly, confident, kind grin on his face and a sparkle in his eyes as if there was a lot going on in his mind. I am very sad to loose him. My world is little less stable now he has passed.
It was my understanding that Uncle Jack knew Jesus Christ (King of Kings, Lord of Lords, Creator of Heaven and Earth, Savior) as his Saviour. If so, my blessed hope is that I will see Uncle Jack again . "For God so loved the world that He gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life", John 3:16.
" For the wages of sin is death is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus our Lord." Roman's 6:23. Jesus said, " I Am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. " John 14: 6. God made a way for us. Cause He loves us. I am pretty sure Uncle Jack would want you know this. So, store it away in your heart.
I will miss Uncle Jack's presence, his charm, his confidence , his wisdom, his pleasant and kind demeanor and on and on. He was a unique Scotsman/ Canadian, that is for sure.
Fair thee well Bonnie John McKee McRoberts. It was wonderful to have been in your presence.
Love you Jack
Your nephew,
Alan Miller (TEXAN)
I will miss seeing you at the GC. You always lifted our spirits.
