In Loving Memory of John Markesini
(November 14, 1962 - August 22, 2023)

With heavy hearts, we announce the sudden passing of John Markesini, a devoted father, avid fisherman, and dedicated professional. He was born on November 14, 1962, in Toronto, Ontario and left us on August 22, 2023 leaving behind a legacy of love and cherished memories.

John is survived by his son Nicholas Markesini and daughter Zoe Markesini. He is preceded in death by his father Nicolaos Markesinis, his mother Markelina(Nina) Markesini and brother Danny Markesini.

John had the personality and natural charisma to make friends no matter the situation. He enjoyed the simple things in life and was very friendly and fun to talk to. From a young age, John found serenity and joy in the outdoors, specifically for fishing.
John found joy and solace in the art of fishing. His love for the outdoors was only matched by the love he held for his children - Nicholas and Zoe who were his constant source of pride and happiness. He dedicated his life to nurturing and supporting them, always ensuring they felt loved and secure.
John leaves behind a legacy of kindness, compassion, and unconditional love. His passing leaves an unfillable gap in the hearts of his loved ones and his closest friends. John will be fondly remembered by his family, friends, and all those whose lives he touched.

A funeral service will be held in his honour on August 31st Pine Hill Cemetery starting at 10am for Visitation and following a 11am Service and reception shortly after.

May you rest in peace, John knowing that your love and memories will forever remain etched in our hearts.

John had a big heart. In our time of need as neighbours he took us into his home for several weeks during our house fire. This brought us even closer together. We got to know his parents as well. He was like family.
Whenever he needed something, he'd coming knocking on our door, "hey Joe you have a couple of beers I can borrow?". He'd go fishing and share his catch with us which we would BBQ and in turn share back with him. Wonderful and as well as sad times that we shared. We will miss you "Johnny" as we called you. 😢

John was not just our neighbour, but a wonderful friend more like family. We got to know his dad, mom and him when they became our neighbours. He always had a smile and greeting us with kind words. Occasionally, he'd coming knocking on our door, hey Joe I have unexpected visitors you have a couple of beers I can borrow? I'll pay you back he'd say. He had a big heart also. In our most time of need when a fire broke out in our home he took us into his place while our home was repaired. We can never have thanked him enough for his generosity. He was a great guy with always a smile. He'd spend hours on end shinning his boat on the driveway. We will miss you 'Johnny" as we called you, rest in peace my friend. Jose, Tina and family.
