Johann (John/Hans) Kaiser passed away peacefully at the age of 91 while in care at Houses of Providence on Friday, April 17, 2020. Cherished father of Anita (Bob VandenBygaart) and Bruno (Bo Eckert) and beloved husband of 26 years to Katharine. Adored Opa of Beck and Nyall VandenBygaart; Max, Leo and Francesca Kaiser. John was born February 12, 1929 in Berak, Yugoslavia and worked as a labourer and farm worker in Austria before immigrating to Toronto in 1954 to continue his hard work, raise a family and provide care to his mother until her death in 1989. He was a music enthusiast spending much of his life as a band leader, saxophone and clarinet player. John was a proud member of the Toronto Donauschwaben Club since its early years. A special thanks to Diane, a PSW, who brought him to the club to enjoy weekly card games with his Landsleuten until his final month.

A private burial will be held at Pine Hills. A memorial service will be arranged at a future date.
