In memory of

John Johnstone

March 20, 1946 -  November 18, 2024

John (J.J.) Johnstone died peacefully at his home in Toronto surrounded by his loving family. Born in Glasgow Scotland, John immigrated to Canada in 1967 as an Insurance Underwriter and over the years built a distinguished career serving as Executive Vice President and Director of Risk Management at Canada’s leading insurance brokerage and risk management firm.

A keen outdoorsman, John fished and hunted from coast to coast in Canada and particularly enjoyed his many trips to Manitoba and fishing the rugged Pacific coastline of Haida Gwaii. Proud of his Scottish heritage John never failed to recognize and appreciate the opportunities Canada gave him to succeed and enjoy living the life he loved.

He leaves behind his beloved wife Jackie and children Mark (Fiona), Paul (Heather), David (Nadine), Andrea, Rebecca (Richard) and the light of his life and never-ending pride grandchildren Emily, Kennedy, Hayden, Mae, Isabel and Rafael.

A Celebration of Life followed by reception will be held on Saturday December 7th at 2:00pm at Mount Pleasant Funeral Centre, 375 Mount Pleasant Rd., Toronto, M4T 2V8.
