In memory of

John Grogan

November 2, 1955 -  December 31, 2024

GROGAN, John Joseph

Passed away peacefully, with his daughter holding his hand and Dean Martin playing on the radio at Hillsdale Estates, with enough time to ring in the new year up in heaven with his sweetheart, Bruna. Survived by his devoted daughter Erika, beloved son-in-law Jeff, best-bud and grandson Braeden, siblings Mary and Harold, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. A successful Realtor in Peel Region, he alongside his wife Bruna, were the dynamic duo that helped shape the Caledon and Bolton area over their 40-year career. He was dedicated to his family and gave his fullest, goofiest and most generous self to those in his life. To have known him was to also receive some of the best advice, support and encouragement. He just loved to hear how people were doing and immersed himself in others’ stories. His enthusiasm and joy for life will be felt when watching the planes fly overhead, taking a drive in the countryside, hearing ACDC and eating a plate of homemade lasagna. He is undoubtedly taking a joy ride with his wife in a corvette and all set to barbecue a steak dinner. We will enjoy his signature drink, an ‘Iceberg’ (red wine, sliced peaches and two ice cubes), in his honour, but not before 4 o’clock tea-time of a Coors light shared with your sweetie.
If you’d like to join us in celebrating John, the arrangements are as follows: Public Visitation Thursday, January 23rd from 6-8pm at Thornton Funeral Centre. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Joseph the Worker on Friday, January 24th at 11am. Interment to follow at Thornton Cemetery.
If you are called to make a donation in his name, please consider the Heart and Stroke Foundation.

We will miss him but he will always be with us.

He was always thinking of others and very encouraging when we faced challenges. I'll miss talking to him. I'll always remember 'babysitting' him at the farm. One early photo of him was on a bright sunny day and he was dressed in his cowboy outfit, including a hat with holster and guns.

Goodbye John.

You were always this big warm teddy bear of a man. We all loved you and will miss you.

Dear Erika, Jeff and Braeden , Mary and Harold
So sorry to think of your loss. As you know , I had the privilege and opportunity to work with John for 16 years . It was a special time , working out of our Marmur Heights house where my late wife Marnie would look forward to having John join us for lunch ,share family stories ,family recopies ,favorite songs and of course keep up to date on Erika's dancing and studies as well as John's interest in our kids Sheila and Lyndon and what they were doing.
During that period when John and I were working out of our basement , there were a few weeks when the Concord was flying into and out of Pearson .When we heard it ,we would run up stairs and all three of us ,Marnie included , would be outside like kids to see it fading into the distance as we looked in a Northerly direction !!!
Ours was an interesting and successful relationship with warm meaningful
memories I will treasure.
Blessings

My Uncle John was the loudest one in the room, yet was always the one behind the camera making sure that everyone else was in the spotlight. I'll miss your voice singing happy birthday or asking about the boys, I'll miss your laugh, and I'll miss your stories. I'll miss you.

Erika, Jeff, and Braeden, I'm sending lots and lots of love at this difficult time.

Love,
Kathleen, Miguel, Etienne, and Xavier
