With broken hearts we announce the passing of John Gretton on March 2, 2025 at the age of 67 years. He was born in Toronto to Jack and Phyllis Gretton. He is reunited in heaven with his parents and his brother Robert.
Loving father to Daniel and Kristaps. Cherished grandfather to Maya. Adored by his siblings William, Robert and Joanne. Caring uncle to his nephew Jonas and niece Rebecca. He will be missed by his godsons and his many cousins in Ontario, British Columbia and Saskatchewan. He loved his many relatives, friends, colleagues and community members.

So many great memories working with John in the Toronto Star Northwest office. John was a hard worker and had a great kinda dry sense of humor. I learned a lot working with John. Trips to Montreal, Deerhurst etc. So many good memories.. so sorry to the family for your loss. 😞
