In memory of

John Evans

December 4, 1932 -  August 26, 2023

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of John Evans on Saturday August 26, 2023 at the age of 90, after a full and wonderful life. John is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Helen (nee Pappas); his 3 children Philip Evans (Donna), Peter Evans (Caroline Marnoch), Dina Perry (Michael); 7 grandchildren: Courtney Randall (Nick), Hayden Evans (Nicole), Kaitlin Hawk (Justin), Justin Evans (Sarah), Lachlan Evans, Katherine Perry, Emily Perry; and 5 great grandchildren: Holden, Evie, Tatum, Rowan and Beatrice. John is predeceased by his 3 brothers: Kiril Evans (Sue), Sonny Evans (Florence), and Butch Evans (Nina).

After having started his career with Harry Rosen, John opened the John Evans Men’s Shop in the newly built concourse of the Toronto Dominion Centre as the go to bespoke clothier for Bay Street professionals. His greatest role, however, was as a selfless and supportive husband, brother, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. The family would like to acknowledge and thank Dr. Phillips and the entire Palliative Care team at Michael Garron Hospital.

If desired, memorial donations may be made to the Palliative Care unit at www.mghf.ca/inmemory or a charity of your choice. A private burial will precede a celebration of life, which will take place at a later date.

Dear Helen, Phil, Peter Dina and families.
Very sad to hear this news about Uncle John, my Godfather. I have such fond memories of him, and his kindness and sense of humour knew no bounds. Growing up in the presence of all the Evans men was a true privilege. I will never forget Uncle John's visits (and stories!) during my Dad's final days.
He was truly one of a kind.

Much Love Leslie and Family.

Lee-Ann Graham (friend of daughter Dina)

Many stories of Dina's father has been shared over the years, depicting an incredibly devoted, strong family man, and whom was deeply loved and respected by all. His sense of dry humor and stoicism throughout his life was continually held in high regard by his daughter and her own family. Our deepest condolences to Dina, Michael, Kate, and Emily, and his beloved wife , Helen. Love The Grahams
